Colour Scheme for Hearing Aid , Widex 2017-12-05T08:59:30+00:00

Project Description

DESIGNED FOR DISCRETENESS

Widex wanted to reduce the colour palette for their hearing aids to about 8 core colours but were lacking a method of selecting the rigth colours.

Widex then approached Attention for help with designing a strategic colour scheme. A colour scheme that matched their users’ desires for a discrete device and was strategically founded and well researched.

WHY GREY?

The focus for Attention’s design team was on finding colours that blended in.

Where competing companies had used skin tones as a colour palette, Attention’s design team discovered that using hair colours provided a better solution, where much fewer colours were needed since there is many more skin tones than there is hair tones in the world.

Based on a vast amount of research that uncovered determinants like cultural tastes, colour preferences for tech products and the way different hair colours faded to grey, the core colours were selected, and Attention provided Widex with their new colour scheme.

For the final concept the 8 colours were chosen, and a final 9th colour was added to fully match hair colours across cultures.
