Project Description

DANISH TECH CHALLENGE – STRENGTHENING THE INDUSTRY WITH PHYSICAL PRODUCTS

Danish Tech Challenge is a development course for new hardware businesses, in which Attention’s Founding Partner Henrik Jeppesen has had the honour of participating in as a jury member for the third year in a row.

Danish Tech Challenge is a fresh breeze in today’s software jungle, as it is limited solely to businesses that work on bringing actual physical products to the market. The course works as a springboard for hardware entrepreneurs and the aim is to find business initiatives that have the potential to strengthen the competitiveness of the Danish industry.

The participating start-ups get the chance to introduce their technical inventions to experienced experts and potential investors, who provide them with advice and mentoring. In other words, the ingredients needed for creating amazing new Danish products are there. Previous years’ participants pride the programme for establihing business structure. The mentoring has helped them to build stronger networks, realise new markets, approach potential customers and investors and cut off time from their product development processes.

The 20 businesses chosen to the programme in 2017 have been working hard since August competing of a DKK 500,000 Industriens Fond Entrepreneur award. This year’s competitors represent a broad range of inventions; everything from wearable sport devices to solutions for diabetes, water consumption, solar power, pollution, fire extinguishing and many more areas.

The grand finale of the programme takes place on the 19th of January in the form of an award show where the winner of the Industriens Fond Entrepreneur award will be announced. We at Attention are excited to learn which one of the 20 hard-working and ambitious companies will take home the prize! More information about the Danish Tech Challenge here.
